Scholarships for Academic and Technical Training

 
Columbia County Foundation for Children (CCFC) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit which awards need-based educational scholarships to qualified applicants, up to age 26, for academic or technical training beyond high school. Scholarship funds are made possible by income earned from sales at the resource center as well as contributions from local businesses and community leaders.  Scholarships are awarded based on an applicant's demonstrated financial need, career goals, written recommendation, personal statements, and personal interview. Scholarships are renewable as long as applicant remains eligible.  The Recipient must apply each year for renewal.
Applications are available early each calendar year on our website (click links below) and at the guidance counselor's office in Columbia County high schools. Questions about the application may be directed to the Scholarship Coordinator via email at ccfchildrenscholarships@gmail.com.
 

 
Qualifications for Scholarship Recipients
26 years of age or younger
Resident of Columbia County, Georgia
“C” average or higher in high school for new applicants and maintenance of the equivalent in accredited academic or technical college for renewing applicants
Intention to attend or currently attending an accredited academic or technical college
Demonstrated financial need

To be eligible for a scholarship, the student must have a demonstrated financial need. 

Career, Technical, & Agricultural Education Scholarship Program

We recognize that not every student that advances into higher education will pursue a four-year curriculum and that the CSRA has a great need for skilled trade and technical workers.  To assist local students, pursue their technical school education, the Columbia County Foundation for Children is offering $1,000 scholarships for students that are (or will be) enrolled in a technical or trade school.  Qualified applications must have a demonstrated financial need. Funds may be used for tuition, fees, books, tools of the trade, & supplies listed on syllabus, uniforms, and other required program supplies. Barbara C. Beazley Memorial College Scholarship Program

The college scholarship fund is named in honor of Barbara C. Beazley who founded the organization over twenty years ago and is a tribute to her lifelong commitment to helping children in Columbia County. Barbara C. Beazley served the Columbia County community as a role model and mentor for many. She was raised from humble beginnings in North Carolina and consistently worked from the age of ten until a few months prior to her passing. Mrs. Beazley was a quick and avid learner, a brilliant businesswoman, and a dedicated community leader. We are proud to continue Mrs. Beazley's legacy of helping the children of Columbia County, Georgia. Click the button above labeled "College Scholarship Application" for more information.

For the 2023-2024 school year, we awarded $29,000 in scholarships to recipients who are attending Augusta Technical School, Augusta University, University of Georgia, Johnson & Wales University, Gardner-Webb University, University of South Carolina, Tri County Technical College, Georgia Southern, and University of West Georgia. We wish all the students well and look forward to hearing an update from them when they apply for the renewal of their scholarship.
