Every year, the Columbia County Foundation for Children has the privilege of reviewing scholarship applications from incredible students working toward their futures. Time and time again, we hear inspiring stories of mentors—teachers, counselors, coaches, and community members—who go above and beyond to help students reach their goals. These mentors provide not only guidance but also encouragement, support, and belief in a student’s potential when they need it most.
To recognize and honor these life-changing individuals, we created the Motivating Mentor Award. This prestigious award celebrates mentors who make a lasting impact by helping students stay on track academically, navigate challenges, and achieve their dreams—whether that means pursuing higher education, a trade, military service, or another meaningful career path.
Award Details
- The recipient of the Motivating Mentor Award will be recognized at the annual Scholarship and Grant Award Recognition Program.
- In appreciation of the school that fosters and encourages these impactful mentorships, the recipient’s school will receive a $500 award to further mentorship efforts and support student success.
Who Qualifies?
We are looking for mentors who:
- Go above and beyond to encourage and guide students toward success.
- Help students set and achieve their academic, career, and personal goals.
- Understand that success comes in many forms and support students in finding their own path—whether that includes college, technical training, or another fulfilling career.
- Serve as a positive, influential role model who makes a real difference in students’ lives.
